Twilight was awesome. I loved the movie. I went into it, trying not to get my hopes up, and came out bouncing like a little kid on Christmas morning. Sure, there were parts that bothered me, and parts that I thought they could have done better, but my overall view is that the movie is made of awesome.

Jasper + Baseball bat = *Major Swoon*

I’m not one for long reviews, so I won’t bother with that here. Just know that I loved it. If for some strange reason you’d like to talk more about it, I think you could probably twist my arm.

A few pictures from the Premiere Festivities (stolen from Kate and Socks.)

We had a veggie tray, strawberries, Devil’s Food cookies, a Bella’s Birthday cake courtesy of Marm, vampire skin cookies, Deviled eggs, gummy bears, candy bottle caps and more. Each treat had significance to the series.

I found these cups with “chalkboard” writing area. Each one of us was able to “be” one of the Cullens, Bella included. I was Edward.

Angela and I wore our contacts. They look pretty freaky in real life. The Boyf couldn’t even look at me.

The Drafthouse had sangria blood available for those of us in need.

The entire group, anxiously awaiting the start of the movie. Lots of Team Edward and Cullen pride, for serious. The waiter made a comment that Twilight fans were a bunch of nerds, then apologized, to which we said, “No need to apologize, we’re totally OK and proud of the fact.”

(More pictures here.)

An early, overly excited Bits.

Tonight, my friends, my loved ones, my fellow Internet connoisseurs, tonight I will be seeing the midnight premiere of Twilight: The Movie.

To say that I am excited is putting it mildly. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to see a movie in my entire life.

That said, I am trying to remain focused on the tasks at hand, and not run around the office screaming like a crazy, crazy fangirl.

From Dinosaur Comics’s Ryan North (Who, I just now noticed, has co-opted the domain name chewbac.ca. Awe-some.):

In other the news, the mayor of Batman, Turkey is suing the producers of the new Batman movie because it’s his town’s name. Only he hasn’t actually signed any legal papers.

Also CNN and news media in general, can we give the “Holy noun!” headlines for Batman a rest? Here is a secret: they were never actually clever you guys! Also while we’re at it if you’re going to write a story titled “Biff! Bam! Kapow! Comics aren’t just for kids anymore!” please rename it to “Patronizing Thoughts On A Medium I Only Know Stereotypes About Which I Happened To Acquire Decades Ago”.

I got opinions.

I am a fan of people who can be witty, intelligent and snarky all at once.

A couple of movies I am also excited for:

I enjoyed both of these trailers more than Quantum of Solace in its entirety. I did, however, find Strawberry Fields amusing.

I hate my work computer.

It’s sucks almost as much as Matrix Revolutions. Zing!

T-minus 8 hours …

I don’t really have the energy to troll the Internets for good links, and this week has been so bizarre and awesome and full of things that I haven’t compiled any to share with you all.

I am a bad blogger.

I hope you will forgive me.

In the place of Friday’s Bits, I offer you these photos:

Because *N Sync was made of awesome. If they ever do a reunion tour, I. Am. So. There.

Yeah, I was there.

I gave in to my fangirl urges and drove up to Dallas Monday night to get in line to see Rob Pattinson in person. At a Hot Topic.

I know.

I’m crazy.

But it was SO worth it.

Our entire conversation consisted of:

Me: Hello. *smile*

Him: Hello.

Me: How are you?

Him: *looks me in the eye and smiles* Good.

Me: (after getting poster with signature) Thanks.

I left the store in a bit of a daze.

Socks wrote up more comprehensive coverage of the last 48 hours here.

Here’s an interview with Rob from Dallas.

And a news story from Dallas. I was not one of the ones across the street. Ha. I stayed in the hotel attached to the mall, thanks to the planning ahead of a great new friend. Suckas.*

And another:

And, this is what it sounded like at the Q&A. Couldn’t. Hear. A. Thing. I felt awful for him.

I’ll try to find some photos of him at the Q&A and post when/if I do. There weren’t cameras allowed at the signing, so I didn’t think to bring mine. The zoom kind of sucks anyway.

*I’m joking. I really do feel for those people that stood in line, in the rain. We just lucked out. Had things not gone the way they did, we would have been under the overpass too.

In honor of Election Week, we’ll start today’s bits off with a little of this:

Watching this (thanks Monkey!), I found myself thinking that Taurens would not be hanging out in Stormwind. Then, realizing I was thinking about W.o.W. way too literally, I called myself a NERD and went on about my business.

Also, brilliant advice for President-Elect Obama from a fellow Illinoisan.

The hovertext is what makes this Dinosaur Comic pure gold. Don’t read it until after you’ve read the whole comic, however, or the joke will be ruined.

Best. Amazon. Reviews. Ever. A teaser:

After I took delivery of my $500 Denon AKDL1 Cat-5 uber-cable, Al Gore was mysteriously drawn to my home, where he pronounced that Global Warming had been suspended in my vicinity.

Yes, I had perfect weather: no flooding, no tornadoes, the exact amount of rain necessary, and he pronounced sea levels exactly right and that they were not going to rise within five miles of my house.

Additionally, my cars began achieving 200 mpg and I didn’t even need gasoline. I was able to put three grams of cat litter into the tank and drive forever.

What’s more, the atmosphere inside my home became 93% oxygen and virtually no carbon dioxide. In fact, I now exhale oxygen.

Sad news for Doctor Who fans (at least for those, like myself, for whom David Tennant is the Doctor.)

In all my obsession over Twilight, I’ve nearly forgotten to be excited for Harry Potter! No longer:

LOVE the end. Silly Harry.

He’s not Edward, but he’s still adorable:

I need to watch The Bad Mother’s Handbook.

Finally: This Wikipedia entry speaks volumes about people who use the site. I love it.

Hoodie swap!

I do a lot of crafting in my “spare” time, and I’ve shared a lot of stuff here on le blog.

This go ’round, I participated in a Hoodie Swap. I recieved my hoodie this weekend, and I am in awe:

My partner did a truly amazing job on really cute representations of Yoders and Miss Leia.

I’m in the process of making a hoodie to send to a different person (it’s a three-way swap), and will post pictures when I’m through. As much as I hate to admit it, I’m enjoying working on something non-Twilight related (*GASP*) … but I’m also in the process of another Twilight swap. Haha. I am Totally Addicted.
