Today is the first weekday of no work for two weeks! Whooo working in education!
I more than likely will be around to post, but if I’m not, know that if I’m out having fun, I’ll tell you about it later.
Happy Holidays everyone!

Hey you guys! It’s my 25th birthday today. I am getting old?
Just got back from an office holiday luncheon. Am wearing a dress from the Gap that I like to call my Alice dress. Am also talking in Facebook/Twitter status update language. Need to stop.
Stuff!
Awesome news about a TV adaptation of one of my most favorite comic series from The Nerdy Bird.
Oh Andy Samberg. Thank you for being the funnier Jimmy Fallon. (That does not, however, mean “Idiot Boyfriend” will ever lose it’s place in my heart.)
And a disturbingly fitting homage to that video:
(I kid because I love.)
Speaking of, I look at my Twitter feed earlier this week to find this:
@ hodgman: To make up for it, if @mileskahn comes to my reading tonight in Park Slope (Brooklyn), I will give him a copy of TWILIGHT.
John Hodgman is awesome. He then proceeded to talk about TWILIGHT (in all caps, natch) for the rest of the day.
I can’t decide if these “booties” are cute or not. Thoughts? (No, I am not planning on buying them, either way. I AM NOT MADE OF MONEY. I just need opinions.)
I have a weird fetish with facial hair. I’m glad other people think it’s as awesome as I do. (Robots with beards are just made of awesome x 2.)
Lastly:
Happy birthday to me!
Most of you have seen the Justin Timberlake, Andy Samberg, Random Dude and Beyonce parody of Beyonce’s Single Ladies video from SNL a couple of weeks ago. (Found the parody here. I don’t know how long it will stick around.) While searching for the elusive video, I came across this:
I was a bit flabbergasted. I really thought the dance moves Justin et al. were doing were a joke. Um. Not? Who came up with these?! Awful.
Dearest Beyonce, I know you can dance. Please don’t make any more videos that make me think Andy Samberg can dance better than you.
I got a new phone a couple of weeks ago and have since become addicted to checking e-mail, Facebook statuses and Tweets from my couch, while driving, and first thing when I wake up every morning. I’m hoping this urge wears off soon.
And yes, I did mention Tweets. Check it. (My most recent updates are in the sidebar, over there. To the left. No, the other left. There you go.) It’s a bit sad, really, most of the people I follow are imaginary (R2D2, a nameless stormtrooper (weren’t they all?), the cast of Questionable Content), but oddly fun. I’m also following a couple celebrities. Greg Grunberg recently posted a picture of his morning coffee from Denny’s. I know, right? The Internets are awesome.
Stuff!
There are a ton of these PSAs on YouTube. I am both amused and saddened because I am reminded of the fact that Heath Ledger is still dead.
I love it when two of my favorite things combine.
Do you hate reading white type on a dark background as much as I do? Go here, then scroll down to the “Stupid Mac Tricks” section underneath the photo. In the third paragraph, there is a “black on white” link. Drag that to your bookmarks toolbar and voila. It works on both PCs and Macs, I’ve found.
Putting my iTunes on shuffle is a veritable crap shoot, but sometimes it reminds me of gems like this:
Twitter has also brought old friends back onto my radar. A college buddy posted this the other day. It begins:
OK, let me start off by saying this Xterra is only available for purchase by the manliest of men (or women). My friend, if it was possible for a vehicle to sprout chest hair and a five o’clock shadow, this Nissan would look like Tom Selleck. It is just that manly.
Finally, read about the origins of Moist! (First story, Issue 17.)

I believe I am fighting off a cold, and it’s on this I’m blaming my braindeadness.
Last night, The Boyf and I went to a really great “Intimate Evening” acoustic show with Tim Brantley, Bryan Greenberg, Michael Tolcher and Graham Colton. The concert was wonderful. I love being in a tiny room with very few people, listening to guys sing and play guitar, especially when said guys sing and play well.
So we’re standing there, listening, when a tall frat-ish looking guy walks down the stairs with his girlfriend and another dude. They stand a little in front of us. I recognize the guy right away. But, I can’t figure out where I know him from. I’m racking my brain trying to figure out where I know him from. The Boyf, who hasn’t seen his face, asks me if I know his name. I say no, that’s what I’m trying to figure out.
A little time passes, some songs are sung, and The Boyf leans over to whisper in my ear, “You know that guy because it’s f***ing Andy Roddick.”
Oh.
A whoops?
I guess the reason I didn’t recognize him right away is that he was so out of context. Even though I knew he lived around here, I never would have thought I’d run into him at a tiny acoustic show in the basement of Stubbs.
Bryan Greenberg, the second act, is somewhat famous in his own right. He was on One Tree Hill, starred in October Road and in the movie Prime with Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman. (He’s not bad on the eyes, either … sorry Love!) I saw him play guitar on OTH back in the day I actually watched that show and found myself thinking, “I would like to hear more from you, sir.” Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I saw the advertisement for the show in Facebook. Yay for the Internets!
So Bryan comes in the room, a little while after his set, and walks in front of where we’re standing, to the wall and back. He passes by Andy and gets this “Andy Roddick is at my show!” look on his face. The Boyf leans into me and says, “You have to blog about that moment right there. He totally just came out to see Andy Roddick.” Bryan Greenburg did a drive by, for serious.
Some (really terrible quality, as they’re from my phone) pictures:

And this is what happens when The Boyf has a fangirly moment and tries to use the flash on my phone in a very. dark. room:

That’s Andy Roddick, on the right, looking mighty annoyed and nothing like he actually does in real life.
(P.S.—Sorry for no Friday’s Bits. I was preoccupied with coming out of a food coma and cutting down Christmas trees with the fam. I’ll make it up to you. Maybe.)
