I got sidetracked with actual work on Friday, and completely spaced posting a Bits. I’ll do some Internets trolling and hopefully have something really good to kick off April. Look for an early post – I’ve got a weekend work thing which will have me out of the office most of Thursday and Friday.

So I haven’t posted Twilight crafts in a while, even though I’ve done two swaps since the last swap post. I was a bit disenchanted with swapping since the swap before last, my partner bailed on me and I thought I made a really great package. I hope she’s enjoying the stuff I made *grumblegrumble*, wherever she is.
This is the stuff I made:

I’m in love with these little crochet people. I eventually want to make an entire Twilight cast out of them. I made my mom a James one for Valentine’s day, and he’s the best yet. He’s not a swap item, but here he is:

For the swap that just ended, I made:

Bella’s La Push hat, which I posted here a few weeks ago.

A hand-molded/cut out Cullen Crest necklace out of clay.

Book cover magnets/mini frames with a few of my partner’s favorite quotes from each book.

A crocheted apple clutch.

A set of stitch markers, one for each Cullen. I’m sure you can figure out who’s who.

A little apple keychain.

And an Edward Cullen Bad Guy tee.
I got an amazing package from her in return. I was literally squeeing with excitement as I pulled everything out.

A handmade Eclipse messenger bag.

A mini Alice pin and some bird-themed necklaces and notepads.

What really floored me, not that the rest didn’t, mind you, was the fact that my partner taught herself how to knit to make me these Bella’s mittens. The applique on the Forks High t-shirt is amazing as well, and who doesn’t want to be dazzled, really?
Don’t think I’ll do another Twi-swap for a bit, but you know I can never resist for very long.

Short but sweet this week. It’s been busy IRL, and there’s an Internets usages crackdown going on here at work … but don’t get me started on that.
MacGuyver is getting his own movie? I’m pretty sure they’ll have to replace Richard Dean Anderson with someone “younger” and “prettier” (see: new Michael Knight), which I understand, but please, please, please make RDA have a cameo. I need Jack O’Neill snark back in my life.
I also hope the new guy has a mullet.
Draco Malfoy sings!
Not too bad. I want him, Rupert Grint and Rob Pattinson to form a band and travel to gigs in Rupert’s ice cream truck.

The SciFi channel is being lame.
“The name Sci Fi has been associated with geeks and dysfunctional, antisocial boys in their basements with video games and stuff like that, as opposed to the general public and the female audience in particular,” said TV historian Tim Brooks, who helped launch Sci Fi Channel when he worked at USA Network.
Mr. Brooks said that when people who say they don’t like science fiction enjoy a film like “Star Wars,” they don’t think it’s science fiction; they think it’s a good movie.
“We spent a lot of time in the ’90s trying to distance the network from science fiction, which is largely why it’s called Sci Fi,” Mr. Brooks said. “It’s somewhat cooler and better than the name ‘Science Fiction.’ But even the name Sci Fi is limiting.”
Mr. Howe said going to Syfy will make a difference.
Riiiight. I love me some SciFi because of it’s nerdiness. I don’t want it to turn into a tool.
This video is just plain awesome.
I love what people come up with when they use their imaginations.
And finally:
A rabbi, a priest and a leprechaun walk into a bar. I take down the leprechaun first. Now the others know I mean business.

So, as some of you know, I am an author of a fanfic. Yes, I know, nerdy to the max. It was fun, and I definitely enjoy reading them. So pbbbttttht. I’ll probably even write more. ;)
I’ve just completed my first story, Bad Boys and Book Nerds, and to celebrate, I’ve created a fanmix/soundtrack for fun. It’s music “from and inspired by,” basically.

Or not so spooky. I guess it depends on what you’re afraid of.
A very special shout-out at the beginning of this week’s Bits. Love you, Chey! (And you too Monkey … I guess. ;))
This week’s just a mash-up of randomness. Hope you enjoy.

I kind of hate people who are this good with Photoshop.
Also Star Wars-related, in a manner of speaking:
Saber-tooth Tiger, at Threadless. Once again, I’m wishing genetic engineers had free reign over alterations to genetic codes. Not that this is in any way scientifically possible … yet.
This is amazing:
I would totally watch this show, and laugh, and laugh …
This week was a good mix of the Classics and stuff that’s just classic. Supposedly, a picture of The Bard as a young man’s been found … and he’s pretty fit!
I just ran across Creebobby Comics for the first time this week, thanks to the writer of Thinkin’ Lincoln (and you thought there wouldn’t be a reference! Buahahaha.) Love the Official Creebobby Comics Archetype Times Table. So cute. Particularly Lincoln x Vampire. (Two of my very favorite things!)
I am saddened I’m not in NYC this weekend, because I am missing out on the awesomeness that is the 2009 NYC Beard and Moustache Championships. You know how I feel about beards. (If you don’t, I love them.)
And, finally, just because it wouldn’t be a Pants post without Twilight:
New photos from the Vancouver set of New Moon. I am excited!

Went to see the midnight premiere of Watchmen last night … Totally worth it. I think Zach Snyder did an amazing job of bringing the novel to the masses. Some things were changed, but I can understand why. And there was a lot of nekkid Dr. Manhattan; a little warning for those with sensitive peepers.
Vacation was also good. I got wicked (which I have begun using again since being around people from Boston) sick for most of the week and am only now feeling on my way to being 100-percent. I have a stupid cough that just won’t die.
The Internets did not fail me while I was away. Some of this is old news, but a lot of what I include in Bits is just an archive for me anyway. *wink* READ ON!
STUFF!
I was going to include a different Thinkin’ Lincoln (because it’s habit by now; I include a comic in practically every Bits …), but then I looked at the site and this was all too … timely*?
*Buahahaha.
The Photographic Dictionary is an interesting way of looking at the world of words. I particularly like “zonked“.
Two items of clothing I don’t need … but kind of want:
The Sleeping Bear. Rawr!
The Shamrocker. (Other awesomely weird items of clothing at this site too. Like The Hug Jacket. I know, that makes it three items of clothing. Deal.)
I really enjoy Platform 21’s Repair Manifesto. 11 rules/ideas/thoughts on reparing, rather than replacing or recycling. No. 9 is my favorite: Repaired things are unique. Even fakes become originals when you repair them.
VIDEOS!
I love Chad Vader. Chad apparently loves making spoof videos in his time off from the grocery store.
Kittens are cute. Kittens Inspired by Kittens is hilarious.
I’ve always believed that life would be better is everyone, just every now and then, burst into choreographed dance and song. Genetic engineers need to get on encoding things like this into humanity’s genetic code.
Woah.
And, how did I not know that The Ninth Doctor is Destro?
(Before Watchmen last night, we saw extended previews of Terminator: Salvation, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (What is Cyclops doing in said movie? Anyone?), and Star Trek. Woot, I say. Woooooooot.
I am such a fangirl.)
TWILIGHT!
It wouldn’t be my blog if I didn’t include some Twilight-related stuff at least every other post, now would it.
Joss Whedon thinks Twilight is like crack. Welcome to the fandom Joss. I heart you. (For more reasons than this, natch.)
And then this is just hilarious. It’s kind of ridiculously long, but spot-on.
