Bits grrrrrrrrreat!

(I’m tired. Gerroff my case.)

It has been too long, Internets.

Got back from Comic Con last weekend; the vacation was a blast. I had planned to do a wrap-up post on it this week at some point, but was surprised with a work trip that took up two days and had me away from the computer. So look for that early next week.

POINTS OF INTEREST!

I’m still unsure about this changing of the guard. David Tennant is my Doctor, and this new guy

Of course I’ll give him a chance, it’s the least I can do. I was utterly surprised when Tennant took over for the 9th Doctor, Christopher Eccleston. Not being a Dr. Who fan from the get-go, I didn’t realize they could change so drastically, or so easily. But it all turned out for the best.

I haven’t read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but it’s waiting for me on my bookshelf. The next classic Jane Austen novel to be “updated”? Sense and Sensibility. Now with sea monsters. (I am also ridiculously looking forward to a non-Austen spoof Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, natch.)

Matryoshka dolls are either very trendy at the moment or right on the verge of being the next owls or moustaches, it seems. I’ve seen some painted as characters from Star Wars, and I might have even linked to them here in the past. Artist Kyle Bean takes the trend in a different direction, however:

Oh Zach Morris phones, how I adore thee.

I know very little about Prince of Persia, but I had to post this because it made me giggle.

He looks like something out of a Disney movie. The live-action Aladdin, perhaps?

There’s going to be a WoW movie. No, really. I just hope there’s a character named Leroy Jenkins.

I died laughing when I watched this video:

And finally, something sweet to start of your weekend. Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt, the stars of the new (and totally adorable-looking) (500) Days of Summer, created a music video for Zooey and M. Ward’s She and Him song, “Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?” Can’t embed the video, but it’s worth checking out. A little bank robbery and a lot of dancing.

P.S.

Bwahahaha.

Just watched the She & Him video. So cute!
Point of interest: I used to work in downtown LA next to that bank and saw Spiderman 2 filmed in there. (I also saw Taxi with Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon filmed there, so yeah.)

And (500) Days of Summer is the best movie ever! I’ve listened to the soundtrack thrice(3x) today!

Excellent anecdotes. :D But you’re not ecstatic about seeing Taxi filmed? What gives? ;)

Gotta see the movie. I’ve heard nothing but good things.
